Black Box configuration
Flexible Black Box configuration based on the type of installation. Compatible with any XGA SXGA resolution monitor.
Omologato IMO
The FAR1518BB (12 kW) and FAR1528BB (25 kW) nautical radars provide excellent target resolution. They use a new latest generation antenna and are compliant with IMO Cat 2 and Cat 3 regulations. For units < 500GT (PPI 180 mm) the nautical radar is approved with Furuno MU-150HD monitor. For units between 500-10,000 GT (PPI 250 mm) the marine radar is type approved with MU-190.
Automatic Clutter Elimination (ACE)
This new feature allows the improvement of target visualization through a dedicated ACE command. Once activated the system automatically adjusts the clutter, gain, anti-sea and anti-rain filters according to the user preset (calm/rough sea/hard rain).
Fast Target Tracking (ARPA)
The target tracking function (ARPA) has been significantly improved by significantly reducing the target acquisition time. All the new FAR-15XX series marine radars feature advanced ARPA 50 fast tracking acquisition targets for the marine radar and is able to lock on to targets automatically in just a few seconds.
Radar overlay on ECDIS and MaxSea TZ
As for the FAR21x7 marine radar, it is possible to overlay the radar beat and ARPA targets also for the FAR-15X3 and FAR-15X8 models, both on the Furuno ECDIS and on the MaxSea navigation software (check compatible MaxSea versions). An ethernet connection between the two devices is sufficient.
* For connection Switching Hub HUB-100 is required.
Touch pad and mouse operation
Thanks to the completely redesigned control unit with integrated touch pad, you can perform operations on the machine easier and faster. There is also a trackball option that connects via USB.
TARGET ANALYZER™ (not-IMO)
The FAR-1518BB marine radar is equipped with the Target Analyzer™ function. Targets approaching your vessel change color if detected on a collision course turning red, while targets moving away or stationary are displayed in green*.

Available in 26 or 48 rpm version -on request-.
Its moderate acquisition and operating costs make it an ideal category 2 and 3 radar for IMO vessels.
