The FAR22X8 radar series is specially designed for SOLAS vessels.
Automatic Clutter Elimination (ACE)
This new feature allows the improvement of target visualization through a dedicated ACE command. Once activated, the system automatically adjusts the clutter, gain, anti-sea and anti-rain filters based on the user's preset (calm/rough sea/heavy rain).
FAST TARGET TRACKING™
The target tracking™ (ARPA) function has been significantly improved by significantly reducing the target acquisition time. All the new FAR-15XX series nautical radars feature the advanced ARPA 50 fast tracking targets acquisition feature with which the nautical radar is able to lock on to targets automatically in just a few moments.

Simplified acquisition
Ease of use is very important on long journeys. With this in mind, the keyboard and Trackball design are ergonomically designed to fit the operator's hand. All operations can be controlled with the trackball. A trackball with remote control is also available as an option.
Optimized antenna design
The FAR22x8 series marine radars are designed to provide clearer and more accurate radar images of the environment, increasing reliability and reducing total cost of ownership with easy maintenance.
High picture quality is achieved by the signal processor inside the antenna which directly converts analog signals into digital signals before sending them to the main processor. The signals are transported securely over the Ethernet network between the antenna and the processing unit.
The antenna has been redesigned to reduce drag which eases the environmental load on the mechanism. This, with a brand new brushless motor, which results in a very reliable motor over time.
Installation and maintenance are now easier than ever. All GearBox components are integrated in one block that can be easily removed from the antenna when maintenance is required. The antenna cable can be connected to the antenna side.

Features
The FAR-22x8 Black box series of nautical radars, combined with FURUNO or HATTELAND monitors from 19" to 55", is certified IMO Cat.1 and Cat.2. The available power is 12 or 25 kW for the X-band models and 30 kW for the S-band models. The SSD (Solid State) version without MAGNETRON is also available for the S-band model. Compared to the previous series, the FAR-2xx8 line shows significant improvements in performance thanks to the newly designed processor and antenna. Many functions useful for navigation have been implemented, such as the Automatic Clutter Elimination function and Fast Target Trakcing™ for easier and more comfortable use for the user. The retrofit with the previous series FAR-2xx7 is very simple, the unit has in fact the same dimensions and there is the possibility, through Optional KITS, to use the same keyboard, display and antenna cables.
